A total of 2,762 personnel have been trained, including private boat operators under the Jibondinga Scheme and staff of Directorate of Inland Water Transport, Assam.

The training programs have been designed to address both operational and regulatory aspects of inland water transport. Key areas covered include:

  • Induction training for new entrants

  • Shipping operations for passenger ferry and cargo (Basic & Advanced)

  • Inland port operations and management

  • Jalyatri Sahayak training

  • Night navigation techniques

  • Enforcement training

  • Courses on ship survey, design, and vessel stability

  • Revalidation and conversion courses

  • Orientation and office procedure modules for administrative staff

These capacity-building efforts aim to enhance safety, efficiency, and service delivery in the sector by equipping both government personnel and private operators with the necessary knowledge and skills.
